Posiotn Location: Beverly Hills California

Pay Range: $37/hr. - $45/hr

An ultrasound technician is a diagnostic ultrasound professional provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. An ultrasound technician is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. The sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease and new procedures as they evolve.


  • Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations
  • Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
  • Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesize information, medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician
  • Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental, physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer' care
  • Maintains a daily log of patients seen
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned
  • Coordinates with other staff to assure appropriate patient care is provided
  • Addresses problems of patient care as they arise and makes decision to appropriately resolve the problems
  • Assumes responsibility for the safety and well-being of all patients in the sonographic department
  • Care for the equipment to ensure longevity of the machine and transducers; report equipment failure to the supervisor
  • Position patients on examining tables and provide adequate protection based on already existing safety standards
  • Perform calibration and adjustment of ultrasound devices in an appropriate manner
  • Keep record of images captured during ultrasound process
  • Communicate effectively with patients during ultrasound processes
  • Recognize and record appropriate anatomy and physiology using sonographic equipment
  • Write reports based upon completion of the ultrasound scan
  • Alert the appropriate physician and/or clinical staff of abnormalities that require immediate attention
  • Present images and preliminary findings to physicians and the clinical nurses
  • Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws (e.g., HIPPA) and facility policies, and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate of Science — Diagnostic medical sonography
  • 1-2 years' experience
  • Eligible for RDMS

 

Desired Qualification

 

  • OB/GYN scans: including follicular scans, complete pelvic scans and 1st trimester 0B
  • Hysterosonogram (HSS)
  • Assist physician in the OR with egg retrievals, hysteroscopy and D&C
  • Assist Physician with Embryo transfers.
