Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist at HCA Healthcare, you’ll be a vital part of a highly-skilled team that shares in your passion for cardiac surgery. Here is some of what you can expect from being a Surgical Technician with us:

  • You will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department.
  • You will be experienced in all aspects of aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases, pulling cases as needed, and breaking down cases at the end of the procedure.
  • You will be knowledgeable regarding instrumentation, equipment and supply needs for all types of surgical procedures.
  • You will perform delegated duties consistent with your scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course, as specified in policy
  • Entry level to one year of experience as a Surgery Technician
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from NBSTSA is preferred
  • Graduation from an accredited program for Operating Room Technicians is preferred
