The Lead Unit Support Associate is responsible for the performance of duties which relate to and support Centralized Transport Services. The Lead Unit Support Associate functions under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor, Centralized Transportation and serves as a team leader for the Unit Support Associates. The Lead Unit Support Associate is responsible for assuring that the Centralized Transport department operations adhere to approved standards, staff scheduling, and assisting in other activities as directed. The Lead Unit Support Associate is able to perform core job functions as identified in the skills checklist with minimal supervision.

 

 

Core Responsibilites and Essential Functions

  • Oversees USA staff and provides ancillary support to all Modalities within Kennestone Hospital
    Promotes team spirit and positive work environment
    Supports fiscal accountability (cost containment) for human and material resources
    Completes USA staffing schedule
    Prioritizes duties and assigns staff to accommodate workload
    Supports performance improvement initiatives designed to promote quality care
    Strives to make the WellStar Standards of Gold part of daily work activity
    Assumes responsibility for other duties as assigned
    Maintains CPR Certification
    Assists with supply inventory
    Transports patient safely and in a timely manner
    Properly identifies patient verbally and via wristband
    Uses supplies judiciously in a cost-effective manner
    Assist other Unit Support Associates with safe and professional of patients throughout the hospital
    Assists with positioning as directed by practitioners
    Ensure that adequate transport staff is designated during shift changes


Required for All Jobs

  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

 


Qualifications


Required Minimum Education

  • High school diploma Required or
  • GED Required


Required Minimum Experience

  • Previous hospital or patient transport experience Preferred


Required Minimum Skills

  • Must be able to effectively communicate and understand verbal and written English language.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in a courteous, professional and tactful manner.
  • Basic keyboarding skills required.


Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s)

  • Basic Life Support Required
  • BLS - Instructor Required
  • BLS - Provisional Required
