Overview


The Telecom Engineer 2 is responsible for the installation, problem diagnosis, repair and maintenance of a full range of telecommunication equipment encompassing analog, digital, VOIP and SIP technologies. Communicates with end users to determine needs and schedule work. Assist with the deployment and maintenance of service level agreements with appropriate reporting and documentation of support calls.


Responsibilities


The Telecom Engineer 2 is responsible for the installation, problem diagnosis, repair and maintenance of a full range of telecommunication equipment encompassing analog, digital, VOIP and SIP technologies. Communicates with end users to determine needs and schedule work. Assist with the deployment and maintenance of service level agreements with appropriate reporting and documentation of support calls.


Qualifications


Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems (or related field), or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge skills, and abilities.

Required Minimum Experience: 5 years’ experience working with voice communications equipment preferred.

Required Minimum Certification: Cisco/Avaya/SIP/VOIP certifications preferred

Required Minimum Skills: Knowledge and experience with voice and data cabling systems. Understanding of network operations and infrastructure. Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions. Data entry skills necessary to complete support call system reports. Ability to configure and develop project requests. Possess analytical skills and be familiar with methods of problem solving. Public relations skills necessary to communicate effectively in a courteous, professional and tactful manner. Must be able to accept responsibility, manage authority and function independently of constant supervision. Preferred Knowledge and experience with wireless, Voicemail, CDR, and Avaya or Cisco systems Computer/data entry experience. Ability to communicate with various members of the healthcare team. Ability to use EXCEL, Word and have basic computer operational knowledge. Epic and 3M experience preferred.
