CLINICAL HEALTH PSYCHOLOGIST, WELLNESS & RESILIENCY PROGRAM
Description: An initiative sponsored by the Behavioral Health Service Line (BHSL), WellStar Health System is pleased to announce an opening for a clinical health psychologist to join our new Wellness & Resiliency team. The hiring of a Wellness Psychologist is part of a broader initiative focused on enhancing the psychosocial and emotional wellbeing of Wellstar’s team of over 25,000 employees.
Wellstar Health System is dedicated to promoting the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of their team members. In response to COVID-19-related distress, an employee and physician wellness initiative was developed to provide much needed psychosocial support and resources. The Wellness & Resiliency Program will expand upon this original initiative to include a more consistent, comprehensive, and proactive focus on psychosocial and emotional wellness and resiliency for all Wellstar team members. By providing support, education, and resources, the goals behind the Wellness & Resiliency Program are (1) to increase engagement, (2) to increase access to psychosocial strategies to optimize team member effectiveness in their role (3) to assist team members in reducing work-related demands, and (4) to improve overall satisfaction and work-life balance. All of these objectives correlate with the provision of safe and quality patient care.
The clinical health psychologist in this role will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and will report to the Wellness and Resiliency Program Lead. The psychologist will support various team members and clinicians. She/He will engage with team members through direct outreach and may participate in brief psychological interventions and resource development to assist team members with identifying and resolving personal, social, or vocational concerns that impact their overall sense of wellbeing. The psychologist will also engage in on-site education and support acute needs as they arise. In collaboration with the Wellness & Resiliency Program Lead, there may be opportunities for research related to the topic of wellness.

The ability to build trust quickly and consult effectively with healthcare leaders is imperative. Fluency with medical nomenclature is needed to collaborate optimally. Finally, computer literacy is necessary, especially the use of the Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS).
Setting: WellStar Health System is an 11-hospital system, recognized as the 5th most integrated health system in the United States, and is the largest health system in Georgia. WellStar is a member of the Mayo Clinic Network. The Wellness Psychologist opening is a new position that will include a blend of virtual and onsite responsibilities. The psychologist will be required to travel throughout the Wellstar system and will need to be able to navigate through hospital and ambulatory settings.
