The Supervisor functions under the direct supervision of the Manager or Director. Responsible for coordinating thedesign, development, delivery, and evaluation of all programs for Highland Athletic Club. This position also includes the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of all exercise and front desk staff. Carries out all functions and responsibilities for assigned programs/projects, such as marketing, design, implementation, etc. provides support for daily facility cleanliness and maintenance. Oversees all scheduling for the facility. Teaches classes and provides presentations in areas of expertise. Provides coverage on the exercise floor and works with other staff of Wellstar Health System when applicable. Also responsible for providing excellent customer service, adhering to facility and job specific customer service guidelines. Participate in the marketing, promoting, and selling of Highland Athletic Club membership, products and services at all times with special emphasis during promotional periods.
Required Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or Sports Management required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Required Minimum Licensure/Certification:
American Heart Association CPR instructor, WSI and or Lifeguard certification preferred. CPO required. AFO certification preferred. American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Physiologist (preferred)
Required Minimum Experience:
Minimum five years of experience in a hospital/commercial/corporate based wellness center, experience in working with different age groups from infants to senior adults. 3 years of experience in
Required Minimum Skills:
Display strong motivation for community outreach and working with children, adults and senior adults. Displays excellent technical, interpersonal, organization, communication, and motivational skills. Displays commitment to an excellent health and wellness lifestyle. Displays competency in computer applications such as Windows. Able to exercise independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative when performing roles.
