Ardenwood Pet Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinarian to join the team! Our culture is collaborative, communicative, and passionate about learning and clinical development. Our core work includes wellness, preventative care, dentistry, and surgeries for dogs/cats. Our special interests include internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, dermatology, oncology and more!
Ardenwood Pet Hospital is part of a collective of AAHA-accredited, independent veterinary hospitals. All of our hospitals are veterinary-owned and veterinary-led, which enables us to provide the highest standard of patient care. We place a strong emphasis on continuing education, including developing clinical capability to perform advanced procedures. Our hospitals offer state-of-the-art equipment including digital X-ray, digital dental X-ray, comprehensive in-house lab equipment, and ultrasonography equipment.
We do things a bit differently:
Were veterinary-led. Our business goal is to provide the highest standard of patient care. We offer our clients comprehensive solutions that are best for their pets. We sustain a strong reputation in our local communities by providing top-level care for our patients, and business results flow from there.
We refer less. We believe in training our clinical teams in advanced procedures so that more can be done in-house. We believe in having state-of-the-art equipment including digital dental X-rays and ultrasounds in each of our practices. Not only does this mean our teams have greater job satisfaction through more interesting work, but our patients and clients also reap the benefits of having most things done under one roof.
We mentor our people. Our Clinical Directors spend at least one day per week purely training and mentoring their teams. From informal group demonstrations to more intensive one-on-one observation sessions, and advancement of their own skills under the leadership of our Clinical Coordinators, everyone who works here is continuously learning.
We're veterinarian-owned. We offer a pathway to partnership that enables our Veterinarians and technicians to have shares in their own practice. This enables our people to generate substantial wealth over time for themselves and their families. It means weve also been able to keep seven (and counting!) local practices in the hands of Veterinarians which may otherwise have been dissolved or sold to corporates.
We enable you to focus on what you do best. We do manage multiple hospitals. This enables us to achieve economies of scale when it comes to acquiring items like equipment and medication. It also lets us do stuff stand-alone practices cant do (like fly in exotics specialists, dermatologists, and ophthalmologists for in-house wet labs). We provide management support in non-clinical areas (finance, HR, IT, etc). But were not at the whim of a Board, shareholders or a VC firm - providing the highest standard of patient care remains our bottom line.
We offer a generous compensation and benefits package, including:
- competitive salary
- production-based bonus (20% of revenue and 10% of products)
- annual continuing education credit and in-house CE events
- substantial discounts on your own pets care and pet insurance
- flexible paid time off

- 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision and long-term disability insurance
- flexible spending account, health savings account, and dependent care account
- an entrepreneurial, collaborative culture that supports your personal growth and aspirations
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- 3+ years' clinical experience
- confidence working in a sole charge environment
- California veterinary license or ability to get one
- Broad knowledge in medicine, surgery, imaging (including ultrasonography)
- Advanced communication skills and exceptional bedside manner
