General/Position Summary

The purpose of this job is to partner with the medical communication teams to develop all digital content, infographics, podcasts, and visuals that are needed to support the effectiveness of the scientific communication and publication materials.  The director will also advise on effective communication principles and health literacy to ensure the deliverables are consistent across all disease states and appropriate for the intended audiences.  The director will partner closely with internal stakeholder groups who also develop materials to ensure consistency in external communications (ie. Corporate communications, patient advocacy, commercial etc). 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partners with the Medical Communication team members to develop highly engaging digital material that supports the Scientific Communications and Publications deliverables

  • Partners with the Medical Communication team members to develop infographics, podcasts and visual aides that support the Scientific Communication and Publication deliverables

  • Establish and maintain standards for the digital, graphic and auditory forms and channels of communication for consistency across disease state teams

  • Works with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency across all material development and channels

  • Serve as an advisor to internal teams regarding effective communication principles and health literacy

  • Provide ongoing education and skills training in health literacy to the medical communications staff

  • Ensures content is developed at the appropriate level for the audience

  • Continuously evaluates trends in health communications/digital capabilities and applicability to medical communication material

  • Work closely with medical communication leadership, global medical leads, regional medical directors to understand needs of the field staff/KOLs and implement solutions

  • Establish appropriate metrics and KPIs

Required Education Level

  • Masters in Digital Literacy or Digital Production

  • Masters in Health Communications

Required Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in producing digital, graphic and auditory content for the healthcare sector

  • Strong performer in a highly matrixed organization

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to manage multiple vendors if needed
