Univision is seeking a talented senior financial analyst to support the Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis department in Teaneck, NJ. The senior financial analyst will be an integral part of the team and will support the Director leading the balance sheet, cash flow, and debt forecasting process. The successful candidate will be a great communicator and a self-starter who is willing to learn, collaborate and navigate ambiguity. Additionally, the successful candidate is expected to gain greater independence and more responsibilities over time.

Job Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicating with various finance contacts to obtain pertinent data required for the estimate/planning process; following up where necessary
  • Compiling and updating support schedules to facilitate the financial modeling process; this process requires the analyst to actualize schedules and utilize judgement to forecast future periods based on historical trends, information provided by divisions, and/or other pertinent information
  • Reviewing monthly actual results vs. estimates and prior period actuals and analyzing any unexpected fluctuations to understand the driver, which will require communicating with various finance groups and/or independent research
  • Assist in the preparation and compilation of financial analytics commentaries and other required schedules for the monthly reporting package provided to senior management
  • Support External Reporting Team with reports and analysis required for quarterly financial close
  • Preparing and updating requested schedules and analyses for earnings call support, board of directors' meetings, and internal estimate/plan reviews
  • Ad Hoc and ownership data requests
  • Challenges include maintaining expertise in multiple reporting and analysis software packages, dealing with requests from multiple sources and setting priorities, meeting stringent deadlines on a monthly and quarterly basis. In addition to providing ongoing support to the planning and analysis group, the candidate will participate in other mission critical financial projects as well as identifying continuous improvement opportunities.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2-4 years experience in private and/or public accounting (both is a plus, experience at a Big Four public accounting firm is a huge plus!)
  • Working knowledge of income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statements
  • Strong/Advanced Excel background including VLOOKUP's, pivot tables, macros, IF statements
  • Good working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
  • Financial modeling experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Oracle Financial Applications, Business Objects reporting tool and PBCS Budgeting software a plus
  • Ability to work closely with Senior Management
  • Working knowledge of accounting (US GAAP)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks
