About the Job

Position Summary

The Multimedia Technician is responsible for providing the technical production and promotional support for live early morning broadcasts for news and commercials productions including TV, radio, digital and local events. This position requires the ability to technically direct, switch, do camera work, audio board, in studio and on field and video editing for News packages, audio knowledge a plus. Applicants should be able to execute live broadcasts positions without supervision in the early hours of the day and be well versed in usage of studio and field cameras and be able to adapt to multiple positions during the week all under the News/Production environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • The Multimedia Technician is responsible for providing the technical production and promotional support for live broadcasts, news and commercials productions including TV, radio, digital and local events
  • Most importantly, the perfect candidate should have good attitude, be proactive and work well in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Candidate must have great communication skills, possess initiative and diligence while working with minimum supervision.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proficient in written and oral Spanish and English
  • Candidate must be proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro and Media Encoder, professional camcorders and DSLRs (Blackmagic, Canon, Panasonic and Sony), field production lighting, audio recording and gear and green
  • Knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition are a plus
  • Field production lighting, audio recording and gear
  • Green screen and studio production environment
  • iNews, VizRT, NDF and news gathering tools are a plus
  • Smartsheet, Google Documents, Slack or other workflow tools are a plus
  • Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • PC and MAC computer skills

Desired Skills & Experience

  • BA/BS preferred in Journalism/Mass Communications or equivalent exposure to TV Production or Communications
  • Three years of production experience with different types of broadcast media (video, audio and graphics) preferred
  • Detail oriented with ability to work with tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well under extreme deadlines and multi-task in order to excel in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record and proof of insurance

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be willing to work from office in Austin, Texas
  • During the Pandemic, must be willing to comply with Station Safety Guidelines and Policies
  • Employment/education will be verified
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, type, edit, reach and sit for up to eight (8) hours
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to Lift 50lbs
