Position Summary

The Royalty Analyst will be responsible for managing the entire royalty & revenue share process for Univision's Digital properties. The ideal candidate will be able to build a new process of tracking, accounting, and settling royalty payments. The Royalty Analyst will work with the content team to track, monitor, optimize and structure deals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze, interpret and monitor license agreements, with guidance from the content team, to ensure proper royalty accounting, generating periodic statements for royalty payouts and audit compliance
  • Review historical data for the preparation of accurate projection models to enable revenue forecasts
  • Prepare appropriate accounting statements as contractually required
  • Process and compile data for the periodic royalty reports
  • Prepare royalty reports (monthly, quarterly, annually, as required per the related licensing agreements)
  • Calculate royalty payable for the reporting period
  • Communicate with licensors with status updates and questions in a timely manner
  • Assist the licensing team in providing royalty performance and analysis reports
  • Prepare and/or assist with ad hoc monthly management reports
  • Assist in improving the royalty reporting process
  • Assist the accounting team with its other functions, including but not limited to AP, AR, bank transactions, general ledger, reconciliations, and sales and use taxes
  • Work with internal departments and external auditors
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
  • Ensuring all royalty participants are set up correctly (appropriate name, address and tax information) is established in order to ensure the proper payment and reporting

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or relevant degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (Experience in Royalty Accounting is preferable)
  • Working knowledge of debits and credits, SAP preferred
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel (including the creation and use of pivot tables, look up and macros) and MS Word, skilled in PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact well with different levels within the organization
  • Negotiation skills along with enhanced interpretation abilities of the terms and conditions of royalty agreements
  • Excellent organizational skills that can handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong legal orientation

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Digital Media experience
  • Self-motivated team player
  • Able to analyze and review information from several different sources (corporate systems)
  • Familiarity with recoupable costs, clearance, budgets, and purchase orders
  • Project management skills

Eligibility Requirements

  • This position is expected to work from our New York City or Miami or LA office, but is currently fully remote (from home) on a temporary basis during the pandemic
  • Employment/education will be verified
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
