Turner Services Inc. seeks a Post Product Owner for the META – Development department.

The Product Owner plays a critical role in managing software development using Agile best practices. This role is responsible for understanding the needs of Warner Media's NEWS video and editorial management objectives, and translating those needs into a deep, well written and groomed backlog. As member of Warner Media's Product Development Team, the PO will be embedded with a development team and will be responsible for managing the work stream; one sprint at a time until the objectives business needs are met. This product owner role will be highly visible,and will work with senior members of the technology teams, as well as executive stakeholders. Adheres to Agile/Scrum methodologies (40%), which consist of planning iterative cycles (sprints) with the software development team, garnering commitment as well as tracking the team's velocity, and steering the project to ensure delivery of business value. Owns numerous and various points of the iterative cycle to include (60%):

The Daily

  • The PO facilitates the requirements gathering process by working directly with all stakeholders
  • Manage the software development backlog to ensure that the highest priorities are at the top of the backlog, and each story is well defined and accepted by the team for development
  • Facilitates Sprint Planning where the Product Owner and development teams meet to review and plan the highest priority stories for the next sprint cycle
  • Facilitates frequent workshops with end users to gather requirements and validate the vision
  • Works with end users directly to identify, understand and document their workflows (problems) then work with them to identify innovative solutions
  • Owns the end-of-sprint review and demonstrates the sprint's completed user stories, solicits feedback, and validates the next sprint's focus
  • Work with management team to ensure the project is completed within scope, on budget and on time
  • Manages flow of information to the Training Team so that all training documentation is current
  • The PO works with all relevant teams to get features tested &into a production environment
  • Interfaces with engineering and support teams post-launch to ensure system is working as designed, and brings any feedback to the development team
  • Work with vendors when integrating 3rd party products into the News Production Platform

The Essentials

  • 2+ years experience as a Product Owner or Scrum Master in an Agile environment
  • 3+ years experience Business Analysis Product Management with Enterprise Applications
  • Excellent Presentation Skills Customer management
  • Must be able to identify and mitigate risk through sound judgment
  • Ability to work in fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Desirable Requirements: Familiar with “Lean Start-Up” methods of development
  • Experience with video production & distribution a big plus
