Provides administrative support to the Regional VP. Provides meeting and event coordination, communications, and special projects. Serves as the Regional Governance Officer/Secretary (communications and record keeper) for the Thrivent Member Network, communicating with the internal audiences of the Region including RVP, Directors, Engagement Team, Financial Professional, Staff and the Regional Board

Responsibilities
Administrative & Regional Support:
- Provides administrative support to Regional VP and occasionally others.
- Handles incoming e-mails for the RVP and responds to information requests.
- Handles calendar scheduling for the RVP.
- Coordinates meetings and events with internal staff and external resources, includes basic event planning such as preparing materials, communication to meeting attendees, food and beverage orders.
- Work alongside RVP and other speakers during meetings to drive presentation content (i.e. display PowerPoints/other visuals in a Zoom meeting).
- Handles special projects that may arise quickly such as requests that come from corporate business partners or others within the regional team.
- Create reports for RVP/region as needed.
- Responsible for regional internal communications site “My Work.” Manage article submissions, provide review and edits to communications before posting to the site. Prepare weekly reports that are posted onto the site. Distribute weekly updated site to region.
Thrivent Member Network Board Secretary Support:
- Work in conjunction with the Executive Chair and President of the regional Board to manage administrative and operational activities related to regional board of directors meetings, including meeting calendar, agenda planning, coordination of and distribution of all meeting materials prior to the scheduled board meetings (through the use of the online board portal).
- Attends all Regional Board meetings and planning sessions for board meetings; will partner with the Executive Chair and President to identify agenda items and set agendas, and define material needs for board meetings.
- Responsible for the drafting of board minutes and resolutions for presentation to the Board. Responsible for maintenance of the governance records for the Thrivent Member Network Regional Board.
- Manage the process for appointment of new members and the appointment of new organizations that qualify for Thrivent Choice dollars and preparation of such appointments for action at quarterly Thrivent Member Network regional board of directors meetings.
- Assist Thrivent’s Deputy Corporate Secretary with local management of the election of Regional Board Members.
- Maintain appropriate corporate governance records for the Thrivent Member Network Regional Board.
Qualifications
- Attention to detail, good organizational skills. Understanding or ability to learn basic bookkeeping skills in order to process expenses/payments.
- High level of personal and professional integrity; strong reputation as a trustworthy individual who maintains confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member; demonstrated leadership skills; ability to influence without authority and achieve results. Ability to work across multiple levels of the organization from the Regional Board of Directors and RFO leadership to members.
- Able to interact through verbal and written communication, able to learn and retain information and understand changes quickly, willing and able to research for answers to questions or additional information, ability to be trusted to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel) and able to learn other software systems.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook.
- Must be able to concentrate on tasks for extended periods of time and handle multiple priorities at one time.
- Must have good follow through skills and ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders about deadlines as well as tracking progress.
- Learning agility to understand Thrivent’s unique governance structure and how it applies to the regional level. Familiarity with legal documents (articles, by-laws, IRS letters, etc.) to note applicability during meetings.
- Ability to travel to attend board meetings at a variety of locations as needed.
- Previous industry knowledge desired.
- College degree in English, communications, business, marketing or comparable skill sets and experience is preferred.
