Location/Division Specific Information:
This position is based at our Grand Island, NY site.

12 Hour Day Shift – 6am – 6:30pm

Schedule rotating weeks:

1st week: Thursday to Saturday = 36 hours

2nd week: Wednesday to Saturday = 48 hours


What will you do?

  • Support the establishment and maintenance of performance metrics
  • Achieve annual goals for Total Recordable Incidents and Lost Time Recordable Incidents
  • Provide leadership / management support (coaching, performance management development [PMD], training, issue resolution, etc.) to associates
  • Take ownership of safety initiatives including incident investigations and reporting within the required timeframe. Participate in safety walkthroughs and continuous improvement activities
  • Execute operations to ensure daily safety and shipment objectives are achieved
  • Support inventory accuracy initiatives to achieve annual targets for Grand Island Raw Materials
  • Take ownership of quality/process issues (PR) and corrective actions
  • Provide role-model leadership in driving change to achieve continuous improvement through Lean best practices in Warehousing, Material Flow, and Logistics
  • Through Leader-Standard Work monitor performance and effectiveness of operations
  • Serve as a point of escalation for MFG, Supplier, and/or supply issues
  • Serve as a point of escalation for the Warehouse during your shift
  • Balance labor resources necessary to assure the overall success of the Department
  • Contribute to labor resource forecasting under the direction of the LSG Distribution Manager
  • Support and contribute to continuous improvement activities for service level performance
  • Support inventory management processes (cycle-counting, MDR processing, warehouse slotting optimization, pick-path optimization, etc.)
  • Other duties as prescribed by Distribution Manager/Supervisor

How will you get here?

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a frontline Supervision or Management capacity within a distribution/operations or retail environment
  • Training or certification on operation of Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) required
  • Detailed knowledge of inventory management
  • Experience coaching, interviewing, and proven track record of issue resolution/compromise
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate teams and establish goals, metrics, data and plans to achieve organizational objectives
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external customers / suppliers; including success functioning as a change agent / team leader and team member in a multi-skilled, dynamic and matrix business environment
  • Knowledge of lean material concepts and application in warehousing and logistics
  • MS-Office Capabilities (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Certified training for process improvement is a plus
