Location: Frederick, MD - Executive Way - 2nd Shift

Job Summary:
To support the Formulations Department during daily operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure employees are following company policies and is responsible for issuing warnings if/when needed.
  • Handle shift-to-shift communications to ensure detailed transition of work between shifts.
  • Promote a safe and positive team environment to achieve daily production goals.
  • Direct the daily work to ensure schedule completion while leading utilization and efficiency.
  • Trend production metrics to identify areas of improvement.
  • Supervise and ensure compliance with ISO/GMP/FDA/class 7 and 8 requirements.
  • Maintain quality system by following SOP’s and work instructions.
  • Review and update manufacturing documents as needed.
  • Promote Practical Process Improvement and achieve cost saving goals.
  • Open and lead problem reports/CAPA/Change Control as needed.
  • Maintains staffing plan.and reviews team member performance


Nature and Scope:
The Manufacturing Supervisor for Formulations is responsible for leading all aspects of operations with general responsibility for safety, quality, delivery, and cost daily while leading a team of approximately 10 – 15 employees made up of both Full Time Employees and Contractors. You will maintain a skilled manufacturing team responsible for formulating bulks used in downstream manufacturing processes. You must effectively communicate during daily shift changeover and scheduled cross functional meetings to promote both inter- and intra-shift cohesion. This position requires the individual to be ready to start work on-time daily and maintain strong attendance performance. A willingness to learn and mentor others is a must.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or other related life science field) required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years related biotechnology experience
  • Proven track record to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures, instructions, and to meet project timelines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and little direct supervision
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite to support daily operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Shown ability to apply problem solving methodology to understand root cause and implement solutions.
  • Lean manufacturing practitioner
  • Excellent time management skills
