How will you make an impact?
The Sr. Manager, Procurement has overall responsibility for all direct purchasing activities for the Project “SUR” program, which is an assurance of supply and cost savings program that will be ran across the 7 Single Use Technology division locations. This position’s primary objectives are to lead and manage a team of procurement professionals to achieve supply assurance, risk mitigation, and cost reductions. The individual is responsible for managing the acquisition of inbound materials and services from approved global and regional suppliers, at competitive costs, as the need arises to support the operations and improve the organization’s profitability.
What will you do?
- Management of the procurement operations team responsible for PO creation/placement/management and internal customer service required for all raw materials consumed in manufacturing.
- Individual contributor performance management and development: coaching, motivating, performing employee reviews, determining compensation, KPI management, goal setting, and driving results.
- Effectively lead and enable the Purchasing team to achieve strategic objectives, process optimization and support Category Management on key initiatives.
- Implement inventory control programs including Pay at Consumption and Just-In-Time to achieve cash flow objectives without compromising material availability.
- Manage formalized risk mitigation programs to reduce vulnerability of supply chain interruptions.
- Drive effective supplier management relationships focused on quality, supply assurance, and cost.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on Total Cost of Ownership models.
- Drive global projects aligning business processes and tools across multiple sites.
- Present procurement strategies, processes, and policies to internal and external customers.
- Understand regulatory and market requirements and their impacts on the supply chain.
- Effectively implement change with little to no disruption to the team or work streams.
- Maintain a positive results-oriented attitude that promotes teamwork with peers, subordinates, commercial, operations, other support functions, and suppliers while driving significant change.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, current & future policies and procedures, regulatory & trade requirements, and market dynamics appropriate to function.
- Optimize utilization of ERP/MRP in an MTO & MTS environment across multiple sites supporting multiple divisions and product lines.
- Apply strong business acumen including solid knowledge of commercial and technical concepts, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Achieve financial goals of the Procurement and Operations organizations.
- Lead and/or participate on continuous process improvement teams.
- Serve as a member of the site Operations Leadership team.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or technical field. Master’s Degree is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years procurement/sourcing experience in mid to large multinational companies, with strong category/business engagement experience
- Business acumen – knows how to assess market/business requirements dynamics and negotiate agreements that yield meaningful business value
- Experience working in highly regulated industries
- Experience in a continuous improvement environment with a track record of achieving significant year over year results
- Demonstrated consultative/collaborative style in performing sourcing activities
- Influences without authority to motivate and manage a cross-functional team in multiple geographies.
- CPSM or equivalent is preferred
- Hands-on manufacturing and/or supply chain experience is preferred
- Experience in life sciences, medical device, or pharmaceutical industries is preferred
- Ability to travel 25 to 50%
