Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD)

How will you make an impact?

This role will own and drive the SEO content efforts throughout the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry division (CMD) by creating, coaching and collaborating with CMD partners. You will be crafting the plan, inspecting newly built content, and ensuring our efforts have all the factors to rank.

As a Sr SEO Specialist, you will become a reference point for keyword research and SEO initiatives for the content team and BU partners throughout the division. You're comfortable defining a purpose for pages as you get a better understanding of the search landscape with ability to address cannibalization, proposing net-new content and strategic interlinking.
This is a remote role based in the US within the CMD ebusiness Marketing Team.

What will you do?

  • Serve as the subject matter authority and support for SEO across CMD's web presence, including thermofisher.com and analyteguru.com.
  • Write the SEO plan for structured and unstructured web content, working with cross-functional teams to instill SEO standard methodologies, update processes and improve communication
  • Work with Web Production, Product Marketing Managers, and Web Content teams to implement on-page optimizations and propose new content ideas.
  • Conduct keyword research for content writers and partners, assess page objectives, and keyword mapping. Train teams and business partners on running keyword research, applying outstanding SEO practices and how they can better collaborate amongst each other.
  • Influence the internal business partners to prioritize the SEO activities with the greatest potential to meet divisional revenue targets
  • Track and report on overall SEO performance and the success of specific initiatives

How will you get here?
Education
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in related field – biology, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or comparable preferred but not required.

Experience
  • Demonstrated experience working on cross-functional teams that develop pioneering strategies and implement them through an organization
  • Minimum 3+ years in SEO with a consistent track record of optimizing content heavy sites. Experience optimizing websites within the Life Science industry preferred
  • Knowledge of on-page SEO, technical SEO and search engine ranking factors.
  • Experience with Data Studio, Google Search Console, Conductor, Screaming Frog, Adobe, Google Analytics, or similar tools.
  • Ability to form relationships, influence others, and work successfully with colleagues across multiple locations.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, and an ability to draw conclusions from data to make impactful recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation. Able to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels of the business and to various partner groups to propose new projects and initiatives.
  • Attention to detail with strong organization and prioritization skills to successfully lead multiple projects to completion. Comfortable balancing multiple, concurrent projects with tight deadlines
  • Excellent judgment and the ability to handle intensified situations
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent social skills, proven track record to establish relationships and work independently
