How will you make an impact?
The successful candidate will be a proven, results-oriented leader who will coordinate closely with Global Market Development, Marketing Operations, Product Management, Commercial Sales, and Executive Management to help develop, lead, and implement marketing programs crafted to achieve North American sales, marketing, and revenue goals. They will act as project leader and liaison with internal and external customers to influence marketing messages and convert them into effective marketing programs leading to revenue, improved customer satisfaction, and market growth.
This individual contributor role is a highly visible position. A successful candidate should be able to drive the tactical marketing goals for a large business and be productive and additive to the leadership vision within 120 days.
What will you do?
- Drive marketing activities for flow cytometry instruments for all stages of the sales funnel to achieve financial and market goals for the portfolio.
- Lead cross-functional teams as an individual contributor to develop tactical action plans that drive growth in key channels and/or customer segments.
- Bring together feedback from customers, regional counterparts, and field sales to identify new market trends, opportunities and challenges. Use this information to provide input to advise broader business/market development strategy and drive a competitive advantage.
- Monitor and report on efficiency of business performance and segments by capturing data and analytics to make strategic recommendations.
How will you get here?
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry or related biological science
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred
Experience
- 6+ years’ experience in a strategic/tactical marketing role and/or product management/marketing.
- Lab experience and/or sales experience preferred
- A proven history of bringing customer value and sales and marketing strategies including web, ecommerce, social and other digital channels to success.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Technical knowledge of flow cytometry
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business problems and identify business needs out of data
- Ability to provide strategic mentorship and expertise to the broader organization
- Ability to communicate go-to-market strategy, metrics, successes, failures, standard processes, etc to improve the overall marketing efficiency
- Ability to take a proactive approach along cross-functional lines in working through various levels of operating mechanisms in order to achieve goals of the company, customer, and colleagues
- A collaborative ability to work on problems of routine to diverse scope; influence cross-functional peer groups without direct authority; and identify problems, answer questions, and gain agreement of others to implement efficient solutions in a large matrix environment
- A solid understanding of marketing functions, planning, strategy and execution; life science research markets and competitors.
- A strong comprehension of business case development, presentation skills and overall business sense.
