Role Overview

Our Horsham site is part of our Fisher Clinical Services brand and the base for circa 600 Thermo Fisher employees. The site provides outsourcing solutions for our entire supply chain - manufacturing, packaging, storage, distribution and labelling.

In the position of Senior Demand Planner, you will support the business for manufacturing and packaging (M&P). It is a key role in ensuring optimal process and delivery for the site. It’s a busy, fast-paced and responsive environment: we process circa 200 job orders per month, of varying sizes and across circa 20 clients at any one time.

You will manage projects that underpin the longer-term development, standardisation and improvement of M&P planning processes and metrics. This will include providing support for large, cross-functional projects, which span planning/operations and delivery as the organisation develops. You will be working closely with other functional areas within the wider business functions.

For this role we are looking for someone who is skilled in problem solving, conducting analytics, improving business processes through data analysis of results and who has a keen ability to translate general business requirements into an implementation plan. The ability to multi-task, prioritise and effectively delegate in a complex fast-paced environment, will be key to being successful in this role.

What you do will include:

  • Providing multi-level metrics to the M&P team on a daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly schedule
  • Provide insightful analysis of departments performance in the key areas of Fill Rate, Inventory Management, OTS, OTIF and Order Management.
  • Provide input to help define, build and deliver change within the team.
  • Assess issues and solutions in terms of financial and operational impact, cost/benefit analysis, revenue generators, and strategic impact.
  • Guide the design of data driven metrics and exception management that take M&P performance to the next level.
  • Participate in projects by managing project scope; adjusting schedules when necessary; determining daily priorities; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of milestones; and managing internal/external customer relationships
  • Provide leadership to M&P Operations team, articulating ideas, and viewpoints to senior leadership team
  • Identify, create and facilitate process changes by conducting process analysis, focusing on quality improvement and data management; ensuring data is reliable and valid, while partnering with internal and external customers to ensure systems provided meet the long-term business strategies
  • Report out results to the stakeholders through monthly MBR meetings.


How will you get here?

Experience, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong level of experience working in a similar role within a FMCG Manufacturing function
  • Experience of working within a GMP and/or highly regulated environment
  • Experience interacting directly with both internal and external customers, at all levels of management.
  • Track record of working with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working on large projects, as well as handling routine operational requests
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Data analysis skills – competent using Microsoft Excel – experience using Minitab would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Leadership experience
