How will you make an impact?
As an Engineer/Scientist II, you will actively partner with manufacturing teams to provide quality control testing and expertise on a wide variety of materials and subject areas.
What will you do?
- Conduct analytical and functional testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods with a focus on flow cytometry.
- Perform troubleshooting of issues which arise during routine analysis.
- Participate in PPI, Lean, 5S programs, and other continual improvement activities.
- Document test results and complete testing records.
- Act independently to determine methods, procedures, and best practices on new assignments.
- Maintain database of Key Performance Indicator metrics for QC laboratory.
- Perform/lead product evaluation tests or special test requests to assist product technical teams with process improvements, corrective and preventative actions.
- Review and approve QC test data.
- Perform/manage routine QC functions such as equipment calibrations, managing lab supplies and test materials, and maintain a clean and orderly laboratory area.
- Generate nonconformance report of product failure and advise appropriate parties.
- Work with blood and tissue to label proteins and analyze using flow cytometry.
How will you get here?
Education
- B.S degree with 5+ years of relevant working experience.
- M.S. degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinformatics or other related fields with 3-5 years of working experience in biotechnology industry.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong laboratory skills including experience and working knowledge of flow cytometry, molecular biology techniques, optical spectroscopy methods and instrumentation including absorbance and fluorescence, chromatography methods.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions with a high level of accuracy.
- Must work well in a team environment and run multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to perform data analysis and to summarize results.
