The Service Product Manager is a high-output strategic marketing role, responsible for working with service and product divisions to build and lead market/customer-first service product portfolios, innovation, and pricing strategies to drive preference and demand in support of Thermo Fisher Scientific services!
Reporting to the Senior Director of Services Product Management for Instrument and Enterprise Services, this position is responsible for developing and implementing an innovative services portfolio for Mass Spectrometry analytical instrumentation.
We are seeking candidates with a strong product management background that have developed and implemented targeted products/services for business-to-business technology markets and customers with complex buying cycles.
What will you do?
- Work closely with product management from the Mass Spectrometry instrumentation business unit to drive service into the NPDI process for new hardware and software products
- Define and develop new service products based on voice of customer (including entitlements, pricing, positioning and value propositions)
- Maintain the value-chain through conceptualization, development, launch and scaling of innovative service offerings required for new product introductions; working closely with the company’s service organization and executives to ensure appropriate alignment of marketing, service sales and delivery efforts
- Define service product roadmaps that ensure service is a competitive advantage in the overall value proposition by moving services from “point” offerings to coordinated solutions and workflows; and by moving to outcome-based services
- Apply framework for analyzing customer requirements, industry trends, market segmentation, competitive landscape in order to prepare a case for investment in new service initiatives
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or Marketing field required.
Experience
- At least 4 years of marketing/product management experience (product, service or project management) preferably with a company providing scientific solutions
- Experience developing and leading global programs that serve targeted markets in North America, Europe and Asia preferred.

- Consistent record of aligning Product Division Business and Field Service strategies into innovative services and plans that deliver customer satisfaction and business value
- Ability to work cross functionally and build strong alliances at all levels, including close work with technical, sales, product marketing, and executive positions
- Energy level and drive that motivates those around him/her to persevere through tough situations and areas of ambiguity, ultimately meeting agreed-upon goals
- Developed competency to analyze business, interpreting large amounts of data both quantitatively and qualitatively
- Proven track record to drive projects to completion in remote work environment.
- Up to 25% travel required both domestic and international
