How you will make an impact
Provides packaging engineering services to support the short and long-term needs of the company, including expertise in diagnosing and correcting major operational issues with a focus on packaging components. Supports customer projects by the introduction of new components to the site, leads current customers toward more efficient packaging processes and/or components, and delivers in a timely and cost-effective manner. Coordinates the services of both internal and external engineering, technical groups, and vendors for the site. This role is responsible of provide outstanding techniques with a patient focus and bring to the team-high standards of quality, efficiency, and delivery.
What you will do
Provides daily engineering support for packaging components and processes.
Supports new product introduction with a focus on aligning established component designs to meet compliance requirements.
Applies engineering principles and root cause analysis techniques to solve complex problems.
Assists on the startup of new products' introduction in the Packaging/Inspection area.
Designs packaging with guidance from the Operations team and Suppliers to achieve the best patient compliance.
Maintains high level of knowledge of Packaging/Inspection equipment, technologies and future trends.
Ensures all Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), safety practices, applicable codes, engineering standards, laws and insurance requirements are met in the design, construction, start up and qualification of equipment.
How you will get here?
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or production-related field is preferable. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience
At least five years of proven experience in packaging engineering department or relevant experience is preferred.
Experience with drafting, printing, labeling requirement, and packaging design.
Equivalency: Equivalent combinations of education, training, and meaningful work experience may be considered
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Outstanding attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
Self-starter, mature, independent and dependable.
Knowledge in computer-aided design and drafting software, such Auto-Cad.
Technical knowledge in mechanical drafting and material requirements/specifications (MRP).
Demonstrates ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
Effective time management and prioritization skills.
Proven ability to coordinate professional staff in order to achieve goals and evaluate and resolve complex technical problems.
