Position Summary

Our Genetic Sciences Division is at the forefront of innovation for genetic analysis research and clinical applications. The Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) Business Unit is a key platform within the division. The Director, CE Consumables Product Management, will lead the CE Consumables team. Key responsibilities will include product strategy and roadmap, product definition, new product introductions, product improvements, training, support, and life cycle management. This Director will operate as a General Manager for their portfolio by collaborating with all business functions to ensure their products meet and exceed our customers’ expectations. The role will report to the VP/GM of CE Platform and is a great development opportunity if you’re interested in a General Manager career path.

Strategic Mindset

Develops and executes upon a global technology and product road map for the life cycle of current and new products for all addressable markets (Core and Verticals).

Operational Execution (Leveraging Scale)

Global mindset. Ability to lead cross functional teams to drive all aspects of current product delivery and new product introductions.

Strong business acumen. Uses KPIs and customer data to gain insight, drive decision making, adapt strategies & tactics and to identify opportunities in a mature business. Accountable for and holds appropriate colleagues accountable for all aspects of the CE Cons business from revenue to profitability.

Works closely with the global commercial team to defend, migrate and grow high margin, high market share business. Understands how to work with and to drive business across multiple channels (direct, inside sales, distributors)

Utilizes experience and understanding of customer needs to drive development and delivery of products to market. Understands the customers’ mindset and what drives customers throughout the buying process. Leverages understanding to bring insights to R&D and Operations teams.

Ability to manage KOL relationships and knowledge of how to leverage customer collaborations to drive revenue. Builds strong internal/external relationships; master communicator.

Adaptable

Based on depth of cross-functional/geographic knowledge, proactively collaborates/communicates in a highly matrixed* environment to drive to action. Takes calculated risks, measures results and adjusts accordingly. Learns from failure. Able to lead and maintain focus through change.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in sciences, businesses, economics or other related field. MBA, similar experience, or related advanced degree, desired.
  • Leadership experience leading, developing and building successful teams.
  • Demonstrated success working in a global matrixed-environment.
  • Strong customer/quality orientation with demonstrated ability to effectively build and manage customer and partner relationships at a senior level
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to understand, analyze and assimilate complex issues, draw correct conclusions, prioritize and formulate clear strategy and initiatives
  • Ability to attract, recruit, develop and retain hi-potential talent
  • Demonstrates passion and enthusiasm for an organization’s vision, and motivates, leads, and empowers others to achieve organizational goals
