How will you make an impact?

We are looking for a driven, creative, and resourceful professional to join the Bioprocess Rigid Containment Business, Single Use Technology of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The Associate Product Manager will provide support for product line within Bioprocess Rigid Containment Business. This person will be responsible for assisting with the development of product strategy, product definition, positioning, and product life-cycle management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing product requirements, marketing and launch plans, working with product development teams, pricing, managing customer project scopes & expectations, and customer communications.

Effectiveness in this role requires problem-solving skills, critical-thinking, creativity & custom solution to meeting customer requirements, and ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.

What will you do?

  • The Associate Product Manager will help manage the production tank product line within the Rigid Containment Business to assist in developing long-range product strategies and participate in fiscal planning for future positioning, growth, and evolution of the product platform.
  • Track revenue, margin, customer satisfaction, and market share objectives.
  • Serve as product champion with internal stakeholders and regional teams.
  • An effective performer will develop close relationships with field organization (e.g., sales and technical support) through training and active participation in the sales process, including customer visits, participating with pricing tactics, and customer support.
  • Proactively gather industry, market, competitor, supplier, and product intelligence.
  • Deliver successful launches through requirements, development, and commercialization. Familiarity with the PCP process.
  • Assist with life cycle management of the existing product portfolio. Responsibilities include participating in the three-year product line strategies, building familiarity with pricing/margin optimization.
  • Work collaboratively with other product managers and key functional stakeholders across the Thermo Fisher organization.
  • Assist in identifying and developing effective promotional and sales tools and collateral marketing pieces.
  • Assist with the coordination of marketing communications activities and plans with the Marketing Communications group and other domestic and international business units to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in Operations meetings and provide input to operational plans

How will you get here?

  • Science or engineering technical background, required
  • Knowledge of marketing tools and techniques, required
  • Interest in financial analysis and opportunity assessment, required
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline with strong analytical skills and a general knowledge base of sciences, required. An MBA is preferred
  • 1-3 years’ experience in product management, field applications, marketing, or operations roles required

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Strong management, project management and planning skills, and comfortable making decisions and embracing changes
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in matrix organizational structure
  • Outcome orientation and a strong desire to plan to measure the success of initiatives.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Products: e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBi preferred
  • Ability to work with teams across the global and cultural difference
  • Travel: approximately 20% globally
