The LEGO Group is on the lookout for a dynamic Product Safety Manager to join the team, where every day presents a new opportunity to ensure that LEGO products are safe, compliant, and ready for imaginative play. This role is integral to understanding the worldwide regulatory chemical framework and leading implementation projects that drive product safety and compliance!

Core Responsibilities

  • Understanding world-wide regulatory chemical framework
  • Running implementation projects relating to product safety and compliance
  • Evaluating material compositions against international chemical requirements
  • Communicating with stakeholders on chemical requirements and material approvals
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure one voice on chemical requirements
  • Participating in cross-functional activities across the Product Safety & Compliance department and potentially broader

Product Safety & Compliance (PS&C) drives activities to ensure that LEGO products are safe by design and meet or exceed all legal requirements.

The Chemical Product Safety team is a sub-entity within PS&C which delivers consultancy on chemical product safety and compliance, translates external demands to internal requirements, implements and communicates chemical and sustainability requirements in the PS Handbook, and drives chemical approval of materials for LEGO elements, products and packaging.

Do you have what it takes

The ideal candidate comes with an education in chemistry/chemical engineering or similar. They have a solid background in, and experience with, chemical compositions of common consumer product materials.

Moreover, they come with:

  • Experience in chemical product safety regulations, product testing or material assessments towards requirements
  • Working process oriented and capable of managing multiple stakeholder contacts
  • Experienced in visualizing complex systems and communicating on them
  • Project management experience

It would be beneficial to have:

  • Experience with food contact material legislation
  • Experience with European or international standardization
  • Experience in SAP and handling of Master data
  • Good skills in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
  • Experience with data mining and presenting data

The position is based in Billund, DK and relocation support is not offered for this role.
