The Construction Polisher is a skilled professional responsible for polishing and finishing various surfaces in the construction industry. This role involves using specialized tools and techniques to achieve high-quality finishes on surfaces such as concrete, marble, and granite. The Construction Polisher plays a critical role in enhancing the aesthetic appeal and durability of construction projects.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for polishing by cleaning, leveling, and repairing imperfections.
- Remove debris, adhesives, or coatings from the surface to ensure a smooth and even finish.
- Set up and operate polishing equipment, including power trowels, grinders, and polishers.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Apply polishing compounds, chemicals, and abrasives to surfaces based on material specifications.
- Utilize polishing machines to achieve the desired finish, ranging from a matte to a high-gloss shine.
- Inspect surfaces during and after the polishing process to ensure quality standards are met.
- Identify and address any imperfections, scratches, or inconsistencies in the finish.
- Have a deep understanding of various construction materials and their specific polishing requirements.
- Adapt polishing techniques based on the type of material being worked on (e.g., concrete, stone, terrazzo).
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and any deviations from the project plan.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise during the polishing process.
- Propose effective solutions to address challenges and ensure project timelines are met.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used, time spent, and any issues encountered.
- Provide input for project documentation and completion reports.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Proven experience as a Polisher or similar role in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of various construction materials and their polishing requirements.
- Proficiency in operating polishing equipment and hand tools.
- Understanding of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a construction team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that may involve bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Detail oriented and committed to producing high-quality finishes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in Polisher role or relevant position.
- In-depth knowledge of granite and marble characteristics and polishing techniques.
- 5 or more years of specialized experience in a specific type of polishing work (e.g., granite polishing, marble polishing).
