Job Summary:

As the Total Rewards Project Manager, you are comfortable working independently and will thrive in a fast-paced environment where you're asked to juggle competing priorities and deadlines. This position will establish operational practices and oversee the planning, tracking and milestone completion of a variety of projects. The Total Rewards Project Manager will use a broad knowledge of compensation and benefits processes and best practices to ensure the timely delivery of projects, ensure communications are managed in a timely fashion, and d esign and implement a comprehensive Total Rewards Project Dashboard to reflect all project work underway within Total Rewards. This role will also manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, escalate issues, and ensure contingency plans are in place for all Total Rewards projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform industry, demographic and market research for benefits and compensation programs, including compensation job benchmarking, international demographic comparison, and market competitive rewards
  • Project manage business-critical programs, such as new program launches, benefits implementations and open enrollment events, and annual compensation planning
  • Project manage and coordinate TR workstream activities for Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
  • Establish, build, and maintain dashboards and reporting mechanisms to measure key compensation and benefit data which validate total rewards programs' effectiveness
  • Research, evaluate, and identify opportunities to improve or change current benefit offerings to ensure program's alignment to the business strategy. Proactively present project status and key findings to leadership
  • Monitor benefits programs to ensure compliance and competitiveness. Collaborate with the accounting and finance departments to review cost implications of total reward programs
  • Support the negotiation process, evaluate plan offerings, and make selection recommendations to leadership
  • Partner with HR Strategy to establish a communication cadence that drives the awareness and understanding of all total reward programs
  • Create an environment of continuous performance improvement within Total Rewards to optimize employee engagement
  • Identify current and future requirements and market trends in the area of Total Rewards, health-check current approach and solutions, screen and assess alternative solutions and devise the way forward that best aligns to our Total Rewards philosophy and principles
  • Stay on top of market trends, challenge the status quo and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Determine appropriate resources required to complete each project and monitor progress to successful close.
  • Plan and manage projects of significant complexity including major initiatives such as renewals, vendor changes, new initiatives, and employee communication campaigns.
  • Establish, documents and monitors comprehensive project plans and timelines, which identify and sequence the activities needed to successfully complete projects.
  • Reviews the quality of work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that work produced meets project standards.
  • Creates a communication schedule to update project stakeholders and change management process throughout the organization.
  • Make recommendations to Compensation and Benefit practices for process or program improvement

Education Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Experience Required:
  • At least 5 years relevant experience with compensation and benefits project management.

Experience Preferred:
  • 7+ years in a project, results-driven, type role

Technical Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience managing defined contribution and defined benefit retirement plans
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with HR information systems
  • Technical/general knowledge on labor law principles related to Rewards, statutory benefit and retirement/pension plans
  • Strong analytical skills including advanced spread sheet capabilities in Excel
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate process and data requirements and solutions to both technical and functional audiences
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi task and work under tight deadlines
  • High degree of confidentiality and experience handling sensitive information

  • Knowledge of Total Rewards fundamentals; job architecture, job pricing, incentive plans, annual merit process, benefits wellness plans, open enrollment and Benefits HRIS workflows
  • Strong communication, collaboration, planning, and prioritization skills
  • Excellent time management
  • Comfort working both autonomously and cross-functionally; a self-starter and trusted partner who's able to influence people at all levels of an organization
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; use data to tell the story and share your recommendations in an easy to understand, logical, and impactful way
  • Strong knowledge of Total Rewards operating model and programs including but not limited to: benefits implementation, open enrollment events, and annual compensation planning
