We are looking for a friendly and experienced cook to prepare yummy, nutritious meals for our childcare center.
Key Responsibilities and Skills:
To plan and prepare meals that meet proper nutritional requirements.
To ensure that food is stored and handled properly, and that the kitchen and all its equipment are thoroughly sanitary.
To logs to track cleaning duties, and may also be responsible for ordering food and keeping records of those accounts
Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with other staff members, students, parents and funding agency personnel.
They should be in possession of basic mathematical skills and must be able to accomplish accurate recordkeeping.
Must be able to work safely around stoves and chemicals while having the physical endurance to spend many hours standing, walking and lifting heavy objects.
Deep knowledge of food storage, preparation and handling standards
Operational knowledge of kitchen equipment, appliances and cleaning supplies
Familiarity with food allergies and handling of food cross contamination issues
Ability to order, procure and stock inventory of food supplies as needed
Ability to communicate with staff, children and their families in a pleasant tone
Interpret and follow public health regulations regarding food storage and preparation.
Maintain proper food storage and sanitation of kitchen and food storage areas

Qualifications:
1 year experience
ServSafe Certificate Preferred
