Summary:
Maintains and updates files and databases associated with aviation records to ensure that associated documentation is complete and accurate. Advises customers, management, customer service, and/or engineering, as appropriate, if discrepancies or problems are found with records.
Immune Specific Accountabilities
- Recognizes and understands flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
- Responsible for immediately reporting flight/product safety concerns.
- Participates in proactive risk analysis of flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
- Ability to review and create aviation historical records such as CEMS, Navy Logbooks, AFTO 95s or Commercial Logbooks/Configuration Sheets
- Navigate aviation manuals and technical data to determine life limits on parts
- Working knowledge of specialized aviation software/equipment used in Commercial or Military organizations.
Specific Accountabilities
- Audits historical records for airframes, power plants or modules that are to be repaired or overhauled.
- Contacts internal and external customers when discrepancies are found with aviation records and makes corrections as required.
- Maintains and updates files associated with aviation records; inputs and analyzes related data used in the customer database system.
- Reviews final internal documentation consisting of inspection checklists, routed order tags, run sheets, etc. to ensure that all documentation is complete and entries are made to ensure configuration control.
- Uses manual or computerized systems to prepare and maintain various reports for appropriate customers and internal personnel.
- Informs management, customer service, and/or engineers of potentially controversial findings, issues, or problems with aviation records.
- Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
Technical Requirements
- Strong administrative support skills.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of specialized software/equipment relating to area of work.
- Working knowledge of engine manuals and technical data.
- Experience in a clerical or administrative position.
Education Requirements
- Associates Degree in Applied Sciences or Business Administration preferred.
- Military or commercial training on Jet Engine Records Management highly desired.
