Postdoctoral position in the biochemistry and cell biology of membrane proteins
The Moldoveanu laboratory invites applications for a highly motivated biochemist to work on interdisciplinary projects at the interface of integrated structural biology and biochemistry of membrane proteins.
The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative team with expertise in structural biology focused on elucidating mechanisms of cell death signaling in the Department of Structural Biology, with access to state-of-the-art instrumentation and expertise in protein technologies, proteomics and metabolomics, single molecule techniques, cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography, and NMR spectroscopy. The successful candidate takes a leadership role in developing biochemical strategies to characterize membrane proteins and membrane protein complexes implicated in programmed cell death signaling. The successful applicant will receive mentoring for developing research proposals, and support with career development.
The successful candidate has a Ph.D. in biochemistry or cell biology. The candidate should demonstrate an academic record of innovative independent research. Candidates with strong background in protein engineering are encouraged to apply.
