Postdoctoral Research Associate

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Athens, GA

About the Job

The group of Assistant Professor Tommaso Cupido at St Jude Children's Research Hospital (Memphis, TN) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to develop and apply cutting edge chemical biology and structural approaches for studying gene expression regulation by protein machines, at the molecular level.

A major focus of the lab is to understand the mechanism and regulation of nucleic acid-interacting enzymes, whose aberrant function is implicated in cancer development and resistance to chemotherapy. Our efforts are highly multidisciplinary, centered on small molecule chemistry and integrating biochemistry, structural biology, genomics, as well as systems biology.

Applications should include a letter of motivation stating research interests and expertise, a CV, and two references' contact information.

The researcher would be expected to take full advantage of outstanding scientific technology platforms at St Jude, including proteomics, genomics, microscopy, Cryo-EM, and biomolecular NMR facilities. The researcher should have a documented background in chemical or structural biology, a creative and self-driven personality, excellent communication skills in English, and appreciate team-work.
