Implements change controls of information systems to enhance system and software functionality with the inclusion of new production code, alpha code, system managers, interfaces, rules, and test procedures. Leads or assists in database project planning and development. Performs comprehensive system validation and integrated testing of all new code and tests entered into the system to prove acceptable performance. Troubleshoots laboratory and other integrated informatics systems. Provides system back-up to ensure continuity of services. Maintains operations controls of the system to maximize software functionality and comply with regulatory requirements. Ensures system maintenance to prevent disruptions of informatics services due to loss of hardware of software functionality. Trains system end users and informatics analysts to ensure efficient and effective use of the system and to comply with regulatory requirements. Monitors the system to confirm optimal performance and timely discovery of variances. Assists in maintaining peripheral systems and processes.

 

St. Jude is seeking an experienced Pathology Informatics Analyst II where you will:

 

  • Lead or assist in the design, development, maintenance, troubleshooting and training of clinical laboratory information systems including interfaces and middleware. 
  • Integrate with laboratory staff to develop efficient informatics workflows.
  • Maintain documentation of approvals, testing and implementation follow-up. 
  • Perform comprehensive system validation and integrated testing of all new code and tests entered into the system to prove acceptable performance.
  • Troubleshoot laboratory and other integrated informatics systems.
  • Provide system back-up to ensure continuity of services.
  • Maintain operations controls of the system to maximize software functionality and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure system maintenance to prevent disruptions of informatics services due to loss of hardware of software functionality.
  • Train system end users and informatics analysts to ensure efficient and effective use of the system and to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor the system to confirm optimal performance and timely discovery of variances.
  • Assists in maintaining peripheral systems and processes.

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a Biological, Chemical or Physical Science.
  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Five (5) years of experience working in a clinical laboratory including one (1) year of computer or informatics experience is required
  • Training and experience as an end-user of laboratory informatics systems is required


    • Tennessee licensure as a medical laboratory professional (e.g., Supervisor, Technologist, Special Analyst) is preferred.
    • National certification as a medical laboratory professional by ASCP or AMT is required.
