What Will You Be A Part Of?

The position represents an opportunity to join a team engaged in the development and commercialization of global service products used in customer labs around the world. The successful candidate will have experience in developing software and preferably experience with Thermo Fisher instrumentation. Objectives include defining, designing, developing, and implementing software tools and providing any needed support. Duties will include project and time management for software development while providing any needed training and support for the field service teams globally. Critical thinking skills and attention detail are a must. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to play a significant role in driving growth and efficiency with field service products. This is a remote position that will require someone that can work independently and is highly motivated.

What Will You Do?

Design, develop, and implement software using the latest technologies for effectively and efficiently for the field services teams globally. You will design and develop applications that directly affect the groups efficiency and effectiveness aggregating data and generate customer facing reports for all Thermo Fisher instruments and equipment. you will be part of a team in a key technical role and become a thought leader in adopting latest technologies and best development processes.

How Will You Get Here?

· BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline.
· 3+ years of experience in implementing Windows UI applications in or C#.
· Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
· Proficient interacting with data APIs and SQL databases.
· Solid software-engineering practices such as requirements, regression testing, unit-testing, etc.
· Expert knowledge of Office, and Adobe products a must.
· Proficient interacting with data APIs and SQL databases
​· Experience using version-control system for tracking changes in source code, like GIT or SVN.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to network across functional groups.
· Excellent presentation, organizational and time management skills are required.
· Some travel may be required for support projects, field operations, or customer requests.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in user experience (UX) design and implementations.
  • Experience with interacting with, querying, troubleshooting database systems.
  • Knowledge of capital equipment manufacturing, 2D/3D chromatography or laboratory equipment and applications.
