We are seeking a Field Service Technician with an Associate's degree in a related field of study and at least 2 years of relevant experience. What to look forward to: The Simulator Technician Lead will ensure quick response to customer requests for product support. The tasks performed will include but not be limited to system and device troubleshooting and problem evaluation as well as performing and/or supporting the necessary rework or repairs required to return the equipment to functional status. The Simulator Technician Lead will oversee all Simulator Technicians involved in the performance of repairs, modifications, inspections, and maintenance of Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTD.) The Simulator Technician Lead will also be instrumental in preparing reports and will work in conjunction with the Configuration Manager to update and track the configuration status of the fielded units

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide technical support to SNC customers in order to give quick problem assessment and corrections for the fielded Flight Training Devices, Mission Trainers, and desktop trainers

  • Responsible for providing outstanding customer-centered quality support and service ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction

  • Responsible for documenting all customer interactions and must implement and/or support implementation for hardware, software, or training issue changes according to approved SNC instructions

  • Ability to and responsibility to interface by all medias (written, email, verbal, electronic, face to face etc.)

  • Responsible for the setup, configuration, repair, break/fix, moves/add/changes and integration of new and existing computing hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies and peripherals

  • Perform preventative maintenance and setup for a variety of simulator related equipment and locations

  • Perform maintenance in accordance with applicable technical data, SOPs and FAA/AF regulations

  • Document work being performed in turnover log of work carried over from the various shifts

  • Ensure availability of Simulator for training in compliance with requirements

Must-haves:

  • Associate's degree in a related field and at least 2 years of relevant experience

    • A higher level degree may substitute for experience

    • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Ability to understand and interpret technical schematics and documents

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Basic understanding of electrical wiring concepts

  • Knowledge of current IT technical standards as related to computers, network technology, and networking equipment

  • Experience in Windows and Linux administration

  • Experience in Aviation Avionics and Electronics is a plus

  • Ability to interpret system prints and schematics

  • Ability to employ special tools and equipment to include but not limited to radio spectrometer, oscilloscope, chromameter, torque wrench, multimeter, etc.

  • Strong sense of customer/solution ownership, an overall drive for excellence, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects to successful completion

  • The technician must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal, for report preparation and customer interface

  • Technician must be able to perform assigned tasks related to this level of expertise with minimal supervision

  • Ability to obtain/maintain CompTIA Security+ CE certification or equivalent in accordance with DOD-8570

  • Superior customer service and communications skills along with ability to drive productive team collaboration

  • Ability to attain and maintain a Secret Clearance  Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances

Preferred:

  • Experience with FCC or FCC GROL

  • Prior experience with Security+, Network+, CCNA and/or A+

  • Basic understanding of Spectrometer, Oscilloscope and/or Pilot Static Equipment gauges
