Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for Cornell 2, our Medical Surgical Oncology unit. This is a full time, day shift in Charlottesville, VA.
Hours 7a-7p with rotating weekends.
Cornell 2: Our Medical/Surgical Unit specializes in a vast array of patient conditions including oncology, urology, diabetes, kidney disease, COPD, and CHF. We provide a dynamic environment for experienced nursing professionals and new graduate nurses. With a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5/1:6, you'll develop your skills while receiving mentorship from experienced staff. Operating on 12-hour shifts with weekend rotations, we offer comprehensive orientation and ongoing professional development to foster collaboration and growth in your nursing career. The Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
Education
Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (required) Or
MSN (Preferred)
Certification/Licensure
Registered nursing License (Required)
BLS required within 90 days of hire
Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire.
Experience
18 Months of acute care RN experience(required)
Strong communication skills required
Process improvement and audit skills preferred
Charge nurse experience preferred
