Sentara is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician in Training at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA.
Location: Norfolk, VA- Sentara Norfolk General Hospital
Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)
Shift: Rotating (8 hour shift)
Hours: 6am-11pm* (occasional overnight coverage)
Weekends: Every Other Weekend
Holiday Rotation
*Hours may vary to meet pharmacy staffing needs.
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- *Enrollment in an approved pharmacy technician training program or Guild Program
Certification/Licensure
- *Certification as a technician-in-training within 30 days of hire in the state of practice is required

Registered Pharmacy technician-in-training in the state of practice. Performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
- Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
- Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
- Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
- Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
- Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
- Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
- Enrollment in an approved pharmacy technician training program or Guild Program and certification as a technician-in-training within 30 days of hire is required
- Must register as a pharmacy technician-in-training in the state of practice
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $21.15 - $32.72 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
