The Security Officer supports Scripps Health through the performance of duties which provide a reasonably safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, medical staff, and property. Is a visible deterrent to criminal activity and actively patrols assigned areas. Ensures policies and procedures are carried out and reports non-compliance. Responds to emergency situations and when appropriate provides guidance for the safe management of the situation, communicating with leadership as necessary. Understands the scope and responsibility related to the use and issuance of a conducted energy weapon (CEW aka TASER) at Scripps Health. Work is accomplished under the direction of security leadership. Demonstrates a work style that reflects the mission, vision, and values of Scripps Health.
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Required Certification/Registration: CA Driver's License. Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW aka TASER) User Certification X26P American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional. CA BSIS CA Security Guard.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: POST PC 832 Laws of Arrest. 1 year security, law enforcement, military, or related.

Position Pay Range: $25.48-$30.89/hour
