MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) Spare Buyer Planner is responsible for non-inventory items to ensure that stock levels are maintained at adequate levels. Works directly with Engineering Services and plant systems to help drive, manage, and coordinate supplier deliveries. The role will work in conjunction with the Procurement Directors and Planners to help coordinate overall cost reduction.

  • Manage the entirety of the purchasing and inventory control process, including communication with suppliers and PO creation/verification using appropriate procurement systems
  • Create purchase requisitions when required and obtain approval prior to placing supply orders
  • React to work order requests of critical parts and ensure that the stock levels never fall below a set minimum
  • Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources, and alternative supply options
  • Manage to project timelines and deliverables & Notify ESS of vendor issues and constraints.

Basic Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of functional experience in materials and inventory management.
  • Possess excellent communication skills to interact with co-workers, customers, and suppliers.
  • Hands-on experience in scheduling and inventory planning in an ERP system environment.
  • Working knowledge of freight planning, and lane optimization.
  • Demonstrate planning and analytical skills; able to recommend and implement sustainable supply planning and inventory management solutions to drive operational performance improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid knowledge of Ariba ERP system and reporting.
  • Familiarity with computer applications and communications software.
  • Working experience on continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain/plant operations settings.
