Overview Work within CAES performing RF and microwave electrical and environmental testing, hands-on problem solving and troubleshooting on various Hi-Reliability military and space cable assemblies. Work within the manufacturing environment on a daily basis, supporting both design and manufacturing engineering on new and legacy assemblies. All work to be supervised by a lead engineering who will mentor and educate all necessary military/NASA standards required by CAES customers. Responsibilities Support project lead engineer updates to management on project status. Support both engineering and production engineer test plans and test reports. Plans/reports to include but not limited to: ATPs, QTPs, White Paper Write-ups, Analysis Reports, customer responses, etc. Support sales and BD in quotes and spec reviews of cable components. Working collaboratively with the other CAES engineers to enable cross-functional and cross-site teams to realize the full strength of CAES engineering capabilities, including coordinating resource assignments, tool selection, and procedure development. Assure that engineering activities are performed in accordance with AS9100 guidelines, tailored as appropriate per company procedures based on the varying complexity and risk of individual programs. Work with project lead engineers to determine and develop approaches to solving design, process and procedural issues. Work to be reviewed upon completion to ensure that objectives have been met. May assist in training other employees in completing work assignments. Support production and quality with product design, manufacturability and MRB support. Providing RF engineering guidance to operations and other functions as needed to achieve customer satisfaction, revenue, profitability, and continuous improvement objectives. Troubleshoot various product issues on the manufacturing floor that affect RF performance: manufacturability, repeatability and robustness that contribute to unit production cost (DTUPC), and reliability. Qualifications Minimum: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics. Preferred: One (1) year of experience with RF (radio frequency) simulation software (Ansys HFSS, CST or ADS). Two (2) years of experience in RF measurements with PNA (performance network analyzer), spectrum analyze or, power analyzer/power meter. Two (2) years of experience with standard manufacturing processes including assembly, machining and plating. Two (2) years of support experience in cable/connector components. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Prior RF cable and connector experience products for defense applications a plus.
