With rapid growth, comes opportunity, and we are actively seeking a Construction Manager in Dallas, TX to join our team primarily supporting our Texas portfolio.

In this role you will implement renovation and construction projects in accordance with company standards, budget, and schedule while ensuring quality throughout the construction process. You will oversee partners, coordinate building processes, and work cross-functionally to ensure all required materials and inspections support the site.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Work collaboratively with Asset Management/Ownership, Contractors, Property Management teams, Operations Leadership, and other project stakeholders.
  • Project management of large scale multifamily renovation projects including identifying and managing general contractors in all facets of construction.
  • Inspect target assets; identify risks and create capital budgets.
  • Manage the construction and renovation process for multi-family residential builds from concept through completion.
  • Assist asset management in scope development through acquisition evaluation and understanding of what drives value in garden style communities.
  • Competitive bid projects with qualified contractors and secure contract for projects.
  • Proactively manage contractors and inspect projects for success.
  • Ensure safety compliance for all aspects of project.
  • Responsible for completion of projects on time and within budget.
  • Manage pay application process and project close out.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years in construction industry with at least 5 years of current Construction Management or Project Management experience within multifamily (garden style stick-frame preferred). Success working on phased occupancy projects a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to analyze, problem-solve, make recommendations, and implement processes.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong relationship building skills with owners, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to operate a vehicle, walk property sites, climb ladders and stairs, and inspect construction sites.
  • Solid understanding of the construction industry, job site safety requirements, contract management, planning and scheduling, budgets, building products, and relevant technology.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
