Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center is a 680-bed HCA Healthcare facility located in the Uptown neighborhood of Denver. An affiliate of HealthONE, the largest healthcare system in Denver, Presbyterian/St. Luke's is known for its Cancer Center that features the largest Bone Marrow Transplant Center in the region. 

 

Position Summary: This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Luke’s Medical Center of providing compassionate and innovative care for patients and their families through a commitment to excellence, collaboration, education, and integrity.  The Pharmacy Resident is responsible exercising discretion and independent judgment in the safe, effective, and cost-effective use of drugs through the application of specialized knowledge and skills gained during pharmacy school.  The Pharmacy Resident shall interpret and process physician orders, monitor drug interactions, allergies and drug incompatibilities, and perform the final check of medications provided for patient use.  The Pharmacy resident shall formulate a system for staying current with pertinent pharmacy, medical, and scientific literature and provide drug information and clinical services to all health professionals and patients.  The Pharmacy Resident interviews, selects, and trains departmental employees, supervises pharmacy technicians/ interns, and delivers effective education using appropriate techniques.  The Pharmacy Resident demonstrates innovation in the operations of the Department of Pharmacy, thereby establishing a framework that meets the goals of patient care and departmental operations.  When need arises, the Pharmacy Resident will perform other duties as assigned by the Residency Program Director.

Position duties (included but not limited to):

  • When need arises, the Pharmacy Resident will perform other duties as assigned by the Residency Program Director.
 

Position Requirements:

 
  • Application submitted to the Colorado Board of Pharmacy as a registered Pharmacist.  ACLS and PALS within first 12 months of employment.
  • Education:  Pharm. D. or BS with equivalent experience required.
  • Experience:  Previous hospital experience preferred
  • Must have the ability to type and have effective oral and written communication skills and computer skills.  Demonstrated skills commensurate with formal training.
