Senior Analyst, Customer & Business Analytics

Panera is currently looking to hire a highly motivated individual with strong analytical, technical and communication skills to fill the role of an Analyst, Sr. Analyst, Customer & Business Analysis. This person will be part of the Strategy organization.  The right candidate will be comfortable using a variety of analytical techniques to understand data and be able to clearly explain the results to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as key member of Panera’s Customer Analytics team which supports all of Panera’s key initiatives and analyzes ongoing business performance:

  • Perform Pre-Post/Test-Control Analysis in support of new product and other testing to inform the go/no-go decision:

Run analyses utilizing store level and customer level data to understand the impact of various initiatives Design an appropriate control strategy to evaluate the performance of various in-store price and product tests Understand changes in trends in both company and category performance, and identifying and elevating potential issues Communicate findings in simple and precise manner to executive management

  • Conduct analysis of in-market initiatives to determine the on-going impact on sales and consumer metrics
  • Provide support for various deep dive customer level analytics to understand long term growth of Panera customer base, migration patterns of Panera customers, growth drivers etc. 
  • Serve as key member of teams working on executing core company initiatives
  • Provide ad hoc analytical to support to senior management 
  • Partner with IT to confirm data integrity, identify data issues and works towards improving data to provide more accurate insights

Functional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, statistics, engineering or related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in business or data analytics
  • Proficiency with analysis tools including Excel, SQL, SAS, Python, and R
  • Strong strategic, technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand Panera’s business model through metrics and analysis that drive insights and actions
  • Understanding of database capabilities and experience of integrating, structuring and analyzing large amounts of data from diverse sources
  • Effective style of presenting solutions to senior executives and staff at varying levels across the organization
