Job Summary and Qualifications
What qualifications you will need:
- Under direct supervision of the Oncology Director, the Oncology Admin Coordinator has coordination of the front office and back-office staff, including schedulers and their daily activities. Clinic hours are Monday-Friday 8am-430pm.
- What you will do in this role:
- You will be the point-of-contact for all Physician offices, referring patients to the Cancer Center for Medical or Radiation Oncology.
- You will contact the patient and schedule appointments
- You will obtain medical records prior to patient appointment
- You will compile all information into the new patient medical record
- You will coordinate all outgoing consults and referrals
- You will coordinate scheduling functions for establishes medical and patient for follow ups, labs, chemotherapy, genetic counselors, financial/nurse navigator, as well as outside physician consults, testing, (i.e. Pet/CT/MRI, etc.).
- You will coordinate reviews for any pre-testing preparation with pts
- You will fax appropriate documentation and/or orders to receiving department or facility
- You will coordinate obtaining precertification or preauthorization as required by insurance companies
