Responsibilities
The Sr. Manager, Field Transportation maintains the primary oversight of all delivery service metrics, the annual operating plan and the continuous improvement of the overall Transportation functions for one or more facilities.;
• Work with the facility management team to provide end-to-end supply chain support for market; BSD and Retail Sales teams
• Coordinate field operations with multiple corporate teams to ensure compliance with corporate strategy and maintain proper flow of delivery volume to multiple carriers/modes of transportation.
This position owns the service level for multiple Third Party delivery companies along with UPS/FedEx, LTL, Direct Import, RCC, VC and Retail Export. In addition, the Sr. Manager is responsible for the alignment of Office Depot transportation operations with BSD and Retail Sales strategies, distribution center operations, and inbound/outbound transportation activities at the distribution center.
• Identify carrier mode optimization opportunities on an ongoing basis
• Provide guidance on freight regulatory compliance matters
• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines by all carriers that interact with the facilities, facility employees, and internal/external customers
• Ensure accurate forecasting of volume projections to core carriers in order to properly plan for peak volume periods
• Establish a carrier review process including carrier scorecards, daily reporting and periodic business reviews
• Travel to all markets per RTD established schedule to manage the 3PL carrier satellites and ensure metric compliance
• Plan and monitor all Retail Store delivery schedules and monitor performance through scheduled in store audits
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree and 7 years experience
- Retail distribution operations, fleet or carrier management, P&L ownership, service and operating metrics, project implementation management (outsourcing, new business, etc)
- Ability to work flexible schedules
- Ability to be on-call at various times
