Location: Flexible working practices with visibility across the GPA estate
Remuneration: Attractive remuneration package
The Government Property Agency (GPA) is helping to change the way the Civil Service works and is at the forefront of the Government’s transformation agenda; reshaping the relationship civil servants have with their place of work. To do this we are delivering one of the largest real estate and change programmes across the UK and consolidating our portfolio in order to save £1.4 billion over 10 years. This includes significant new build regeneration programmes and the sympathetic refurbishment and repurposing of many of the UK’s most recognisable heritage buildings. Our aspiration is to provide a smaller, greener, better government office estate, delivering great workplaces for Civil Servants.
The role of Chief Investment Officer is a pivotal and highly visible role for the GPA. It offers a unique opportunity to directly shape the future operational landscape of the UK Civil Service and deliver significant value for the public purse – ensuring optimal performance, profitability and strategic alignment of the property assets in accordance with our mission and objectives. Launched as an Executive Agency of the Cabinet Office in 2018, we’re still a relatively new department and are growing fast so we need people who thrive in a fast-paced environment, can adapt quickly to change and are comfortable stepping outside of their remit to drive wider benefits.
In addition, we are seeking the following skills and experience:
- Extensive experience in property investment, finance, portfolio or strategic asset and property management from either the private or public sector.
- Strong financial acumen, including significant P&L responsibilities and experience in strategic disposals and acquisitions.
- Excellent corporate leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse and geographically dispersed team.
- Demonstrable ability to collaborate effectively at senior levels with excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills across public and private sectors.
The deadline for applications is Monday 24th November at noon.
