Who we are looking for We are looking for a consumer-obsessed change agent who is a proven team leader with consumer research experience in product organizations. You will balance art and science to drive a consumer centric culture to better serve the Jordan consumer and grow Basketball Culture. You must be able to translate data from a variety of sources - qualitative and quantitative- into measurable insights which lead to consumer strategies and concepts that inform the brand, influence product creation, and drive business growth. The right fit will thrive in a fast paced, highly complex offense, and organization. You also need to have a strong voice and excel at collaboration and integration across functions. Ultimately, you are the lead Jordan consumerist who can pilot the organization to meet the future needs of athletes.
What you will work on You are in charge of the insights learning agenda for the Jordan brand, in partnership with the Sr. Director of Insights. You will set the strategy, near-term and long-term, and govern the corresponding workload priorities. You will define the consumer, identify what we need to learn, and turn insights into impactful ideas for the enterprise. Your approach and toolkit will balance qualitative and quantitative methodologies. On the quantitative front you will use internal data science and analytics functions and on the qualitative side you will partner with the Nike research arm and external agencies or services to deliver a robust and comprehensive understanding of the consumer. You will work at the source of seasonless and seasonal concepting with key functional partners. Your scope will be at the Jordan Brand Global level, inclusive of sport and streetwear, and across men's, women's and kids.
Who you will work with You will be the Brand Jordan lead for Consumer & Market Research at Jordan Brand WHQ Headquarters (Nike, Inc) in Beaverton, Oregon. You will report directly to the Sr Director, Jordan Insights and sit on their leadership team, which includes peers for Marketing Science and Analytics, and Geography leads. You will interact closely with the Nike Consumer & Market Research teams, inclusive of cultural trends, marketplace trends, and consumer research. You will be an important member of the Global offense for the Jordan Brand and will also be responsible for the partnership with GEO leads. You will also be the Insights face to the business and integrate closely with general managers, product merchandising, design, and marketing.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 7-10 years of experience in consumer research, analytics, brand management, product or design
- Advanced degree in a quantitative or research or design field
- A history of excellence and innovation in synthesizing complex findings, data visualization and storytelling, and client presentation and partnerships
- Ability to manage a portfolio of research projects with multiple business partners in a dynamic and evolving organization
- Strong influencing and partnership skills across large matrixed organizations a plus
- Clarity and confidence in complex, uncertain, and ambiguous environments
