Job Summary and Qualifications

Role Summary: Neonatal Pediatric Respiratory Therapists provides care and therapy services for the neonatal population in the NICU, Pediatric population in PICU, pediatric general medical floor. NICU/Peds therapist will also provide care to both adults and infants on Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby and Maternal Fetal floor. NICU/Peds therapist will attend all high-risk deliveries as well as other deliveries as called upon. NICU/Peds therapists are also members of the inter-hospital transport team. NICU/Peds therapists will also support department by providing care to other general medical floor patients requiring all types of respiratory support including critical, emergency, general therapy, when staffing/census allows. Therapists will support organizational improvement by teaching and participating in the management of resources for patient care. 

What qualifications you will need:

  • Required Education: Associates Degree in Respiratory Care OR Completion of Respiratory Care Program Accredited by Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
  • Preferred Education: Associates Degree in Respiratory Care OR Completion of Respiratory Care Program Accredited by Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) and 20 years of experience
  • Required License: Registered by NBRC; a current North Carolina License issued by North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) a current BLS, PALS, NRP and NPS (Neonatal Pediatric Specialty).
  • Preferred License: ACLS
  • Preferred Experience: 2 Years Critical Care
