Job Description

Sign-on bonus up to $5,000*

Responsible for various specimen collection procedures, which may include venipunctures, finger sticks, on inpatients, ER and outpatients.  May include off site collections as needed.  Properly identifies patient using defined protocol as outlined in the Phlebotomy Procedure Manual.  Explains procedure to patient before starting.  Carefully review physician orders, requisition requirements and contacts physician as needed to clarify.  Process all orders including STAT orders in a timely manner.  Accurately enters orders into Meditech. Is able to print labels, retrieve collection batches, print and review pending lists, perform routine maintenance on printers.  Consistently collects blood properly, rarely misses a vein, knows and utilizes the correct specimen collection container.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy Certification needed. 2 years of current experience preferred. Good communication skills, manual dexterity important.
