Description

  • Job Summary
    • Guards hospital buildings and property; safeguards patients, staff and visitors, and controls vehicular traffic. Enforces administrative rules and regulations of hospital such as patient, staff, and visitor control.

        Minimum Qualifications
        • High school diploma or equivalent.
        • Must possess knowledge of how to conduct an investigation
        • Ability to read and write legibly to maintain records properly.
        • Must be physically able to defend self

      • Preferred Qualifications
        • Minimum of one-year previous experience in police work or as a Security Officer desired.

  • Primary Duties and Responsibilities
    • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
    • Responds to all emergency code calls and completes incident reports on each code.
    • Conducts scheduled routine inspections of hospital building, parking lots, grounds and property. Insures all hospital fire and safety policies and regulations are followed. Enforces parking and traffic policies and regulations as well as being present in the parking lots during the change of shifts at night.
    • Ensures visitor control at all times. Acts as hospital liaison with law enforcement.
    • Performs and documents preventive maintenance on security equipment.
    • Assist maintenance personnel with snow removal as requested.
    • Moves patients with the assistance of nursing personnel to morgue or from ED to Behavioral Health.
    • In the event of a disaster assists in setting up the Incident Command Center.
    • Maintains current CPI certificates.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
