  • Job Summary
    • Plans, organizes, and conducts individualized physical therapy programs to help patients restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent/limit permanent physical disabilities following injury or disease. Teaches patients to use assistive and adaptive devices. Instructs patients in posture and therapeutic exercises to be continued at home. Studies, evaluates, and records patients' activities and progress.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Minimum Qualifications
      • B.S. Degree in Physical Therapy
      • Possesses and maintains Maryland Physical Therapist licensure
      • BLS  Certification within introductory period

      • Masters or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy

    • Department Specific Qualifications
  • Primary Duties and Responsibilities
    • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
    • Evaluates and plans therapy programs for each patient assigned as prescribed by physician.
    • Records and reports patient progress in consultation with the referring physician as specified in department policy.
    • Directs and aids the patients in therapeutic techniques, appropriate to patient needs, in accordance with PT practice guidelines.
    • Provides accurate billing information on the same day as services.
    • Employs principles of therapeutic communication, interviewing techniques, problem-solving, and crisis intervention when performing patient care.
    • Communicates appropriately and clearly to facility staff and members of the department.
    • Handles stressful situations with tact and poise.
    • Educates patient/family regarding physical therapy plan of care and appropriate home program and documents education in patient record.
    • Strives to make good use of time during the day by performing other duties needed but not assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.
